Winter is quickly approaching here in Buffalo NY. That means it’s time for my yearly undercoating. I use a company called Rustkote and highly recommend it as it’s one of the least-messy products I’ve seen in this field. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
It took me 10 minutes to figure out their Keurig wasn’t turned on though.

In Eastern NY parlance what is a “ Waga” and why would I want to put my cheek to it?
JK of course. I take it this helps for the road chemicals they distribute there. Wish I could say the same.

I read “RustKoated ” as “re tuned. ” Apparently I haven’t had enough coffee yet.

I’ve always said I was going to do this to my cars every winter , and never have. Probably because everything I drive is old enough that the rust has already started anyway.

Not that I have any experience with it, but I know they have a different product that they use on area with rust that has already started. I don’t know if it makes much of a difference though.

I understand. Like I mentioned in my post, it took me forever to figure out their Keurig. I attribute that to my own lack of coffee.

Yeah. All roads in Buffalo are pretty much coated in salt from mid-October to April. These yearly undercoatings do quite a good job of fighting corrosion.

FWIW, I lived upstate for years and never had issues more serious than rusty exhaust components. I’d imagine build and material quality make a lot of difference as to how necessary it is. The rust will win eventually though, it’s just a question of how long it will take.

The rust always wins.

I need to fluid film the 4Runner before winter. It’s already rusty but I can at least slow the spread.
